About me

My name is Shaun Bloom and like most kids growing up, I enjoyed my share of television. Other than well-known Christmas specials, it was a station in Canada called YTV that first introduced me to stop-motion animation. Though at the time I wasn’t aware of what it was called or how it was made, the experience was tattooed on my brain.

At an early age I was curious about animation, even telling my parents that I want to make cartoons when I grew up. It wasn’t until many years later at the age of 21 that my love of stop-motion was re-kindled, with the discovery of an amazing animator from the UK named Nick Park.

Since then I’ve used the internet as a tool to immerse myself with the wealth of knowledge that is becoming more available thanks to people like Marc Spess and Anthony Scott.

I have no formal training in animation but that isn’t going to stop me from completing several of my first projects over the next two years. I will do my best to keep this blog updated with my progress.

Currently I live in Hamilton, Ontario with my wife Janine and my children Gabriel and Jackson.
